HARD-working students from West Somerset Community College rolled up their sleeves last week and helped renovate Cutcombe First School's pond.

The green-fingered students worked on the environmental science area at the school all last week as they re-lined the pond, created new steps and carried out landscaping.

New plants were included in the work and the students also created a frog house - much to the delight of the young children.

Classroom assistant at the school Angela Redwood said: "Everyone was very pleased with the outcome and the students worked really hard to make the pond look nice.

"The environmental science area is an important aspect of school and the children enjoy it very much so we were glad to have it landscaped and the pond repaired."
