Townsfolk in Williton have been busy knitting to make comfort blankets and beat boredom during lockdown.

They knitted 432 six-inch squares with 36 each carefully crocheted together to make 12 blankets.

Each blanket has a label stating: ‘Made during the 3rd Coronavirus Lockdown in 2021. Sent with a hug from Williton.’

Croft House care home supervisor Karen Jones is pictured receiving the blankets from Cllr Dawn Lesley Howes who has co-ordinated the scheme and persuaded manufacturers to give wool.

More blankets are being made with the next batch going to Williton Hospital.
