THERE'S a chance to enjoy a truly colourful display of tulips at two of the National Trust's Somerset properties this bank holiday weekend.

Visitors to both Barrington Court and Montacute House this May bank holiday will be able to see thousands of tulips bursting into bloom, bringing an explosion of spring colour to these popular gardens.

Visitors to both locations are being rewarded with a truly scrumptious array of bright and vibrant displays.

Sarah Holmes, Head Gardener at Barrington Court says “Spring has most definitely sprung in the garden at Barrington Court. From the delicate fruit tree blossom to the glowing tulips and riot of colour in the formal gardens it certainly is an exciting time to visit.”

As visitors enter the garden at Montacute House, they are welcomed with a show of mixed bulbs including Narcissus, Muscari and Tulip ‘Claudia’. There is also the stunning Fritillaria impirialis maxima ‘Lutea’.

The main borders in Montacute’s East Court put on displays of tulips including Tulip ‘Appledoorn’, ‘Tulip Banja Luka’, Tulip ‘Golden Appledoorn’ which give a blast of colour.
