wHEDDON Cross will be welcoming visitors back to popular Snowdrop Valley from February 1 to 27 - weather and Covid rules permitting - when the privately-owned woodland is open for visitors to enjoy this spectacular and beautiful natural attraction.

The main parking is at the Cutcombe Cattle Market car park - alternative parking will be available on market days - for a small charge.

No organised bus service to and from the valley will run this year but a Land Rover service will be offered for a fee by local safari companies. These can be booked via The Rest and Be Thankful pub (01643 841222).

The valley road will be closed to all vehicles other than permit holders during the Snowdrop Valley dates. Car passes will be available for blue badge holders from the on-site kiosk.

Light refreshments will be available at the market car park and in Wheddon Cross village. Maps can be obtained for walks of various lengths around the valley.

A Snowdrop Valley spokesman said: "Please wear suitable warm waterproof clothes and sturdy footwear - paths can be muddy this time of year." PHOTO: Leanna Coles
