As the snow thawed on Monday, drifts started collapsing onto the roads. Although all communities were finally accessible, some farmers were still struggling with limited access.
The snow was falling fast on Thursday (March 1), freezing solid the water supply to Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. It finally reopened four days later.
Meanwhile, contractors and farmers teamed up to try and get roads cleared near Blackmoor Gate and free cut off communities as the snow caused huge drifts on the A39 and A399.
And National Park Ranger Richard Eales headed out to round up tha authority’s hard of Exmoor ponies into a coral of trees and made sure they have enough hay as well as helping keep vital services up and running by delivering carers to vulnerable people.
