CHEEKY Cherubs day nursery and pre-school in Minehead have filled 72 shoeboxes with things to make a child smile this Christmas.

Children and parents alike responded to the appeal in aid of the Samaritans Operation Christmas Child. The charity is not connected to Samaritans emotional support helpline.

“We were so pleased that lots of our parents and children participated and we managed to collect a total of 72 boxes,” said Emma Farmer, of Cheeky Cherubs.

“In turn this means we have all helped to make a child smile this Christmas. We would like to thank all those who donated such lovely gifts.”

Cheeky Cherubs will be holding a bingo night on Thursday, December 22, at 6.30pm in Alcombe Children Centre.

Lots of prizes will be up for grabs including meal hampers, vouchers for days out, beauty treatments, babysitting vouchers and even a free MoT.
