SOMERSET Sight recently held a meeting to thank some of its West Somerset volunteer visitors for their support of blind and partially sighted people in the area.

Festive events lined up for golden anniversary year on West Somerset RailwayThe charity, which supports people with sight loss in the county, works in partnership with other local and national organisations including Guide Dogs for the Blind.
And at the meeting on Monday October 16 at the Friends Meeting House in Minehead, Richard Lees from Guide Dogs for the Blind was a guest speaker and took along his guide dog Revel.
Richard told volunteer visitors about his many experiences with his guide dogs over the years and of the great support he receives from the association.
Claire Packwood, Somerset Sight’s volunteer visitor co-ordinator, thanked the volunteers for all the work they do for th charity, which is dependent on its hundreds of volunteers who work throughout the county in a variety of roles.
