Seven Fables has won Dulverton’s best dressed Christmas shop window competition – even though, like other businesses, it did not know it was taking part!
The customary Starlight Sunday event was not run this year but the Starlight Committee decided to run the window competition, which was judged anonymously by new residents to the area.
Naturally Fleurish came second in the competition with No 17 High Street in third and the Post Office fourth.
Seven Fables, previously called Number Seven Dulverton, has a carefully curated selection of books, originals, prints and British crafts.
Owner Davina Jelley said: “We were unaware there was a competition this year so quite surprised to have been awarded the trophy. It is important to always look fresh and welcoming, and this year, as always, there are some lovely windows in the town, but we think our seasonal winter poem celebrating dark nights and short days clinched it!
“This is our 19th Christmas at Number Seven and our customers have been incredibly supportive. We have made every effort to make shopping for Christmas gifts as relaxing and enjoyable as possible with our white cotton browsing gloves our eco-friendly solution to these tricky times.”
