POLICE have launched an appeal to track down a young man who may be a vital witness to a road traffic collision which claimed the life of a Minehead pensioner. Muriel Bayliss, aged 85, died after a collision with a Ford Galaxy car in Summerland Road in the town a fortnight ago. A spokesman for the Avon and Somerset force said officers were now particularly keen to speak to a young man who it was believed had witnessed the accident, which happened at 2pm. Miss Bayliss had lived in Minehead since the mid 1950s and came originally from the Evesham area. Anyone with information on the collision is asked to contact the police collision investigations unit on 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
