STAFF, parents and pupils at St Peter's First School, in Williton, have ensured the memory of former governor Hazel Hopkins will live on within the school. Mrs Hopkins was a keen supporter of both the school and the local church in Williton but was tragically killed in a road accident in the village last year. Now her commitment to the school has been commemorated with the planting of a special hazel tree and the dedication of two memorial picnic benches. One of the benches was bought with money raised by the Friends of the School, while the other was paid for by pupils, partly through the proceeds of a bun bake. The school PTA provided the funds for the hazel tree and for a special plaque to dedicate it to Mrs Hopkins' memory.
