THREE Minehead churches are giving people the chance to thank the Queen for her 60 years as Britain's second longest reigning monarch.

Big Jubilee Thank You sheets are currently available in St Michael's on the Hill, St Andrew's in the Square and St Peter's on the Quay.

And anyone can write their own special message of thanks and send good wishes to the Queen as she marks her Diamond Jubilee.

The sheets will be presented to the Archdeacon of Taunton, the Venerable John Reed, at a special service of thanksgiving at St Michael's at 10am on June 3.

They will then be taken to the Bishop of Bath and Wells, the Right Rev Peter Price, and eventually passed to the Queen with other thank you messages from the diocese.

Anyone celebrating their own diamond anniversary, 60th birthday, any other 60th celebration, or for marriages in the Queen's reign, can have their names included in the prayers of thanksgiving and blessing at the June 3 service.
