THOUSANDS of fragments of plastic waste collected by a Minehead father and daughter from West Somerset beaches and rivers have been transformed into a stunning warning about the dangers of micro-plastic entering the food chain.

The "Wheel of Waste," now on display in Watchet Post Office’s window, is based on a mandala - a circular religious design representing the universe - and is part of the town’s Plastic Free Community campaign.

Artist Tim Lydden and his daughter Jody painstakingly put together the intricate design to highlight the increasing danger from single-use plastic to the oceans and wildlife.

The display also contains advice on how to deal with plastic waste.

Tim has previously created a massive whale’s tail sculpture from West Somerset beach waste which has been exhibited at schools, events and festivals.
