Rain and gales curtailed the planned rescue demonstration with both the station’s lifeboats and a coastguard helicopter but the craft fair and other attractions at the station were well supported.
Minehead RNLI chairman Bryan Stoner said: “Lifeboat Day turned out to be far from the wash-out we had feared. We had a very positive response from everyone who visited our station and we shall certainly be back with an even bigger event next year – and hopefully better weather, too.”
