PICTURED is Roger Habgood, who walked the entire 40 miles of the Quantock Greenway in a day last Thursday for the Friends of Quantock.

Roger, a Taunton Deane Borough Councillor, was raising money for the group and aiming to raise awareness of the importance of conservation of wild spaces and landscapes like the Quantock Hills.

“We live in a beautiful place, and we need to preserve it for future generations,” he said.

Friends of Quantock was founded in 1949 to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the hills, and is funded and governed entirely by its membership and supporters.
