A RECORD crowd of over 1,000 enjoyed Roadwater’s annual fete – and helped the organisers raise £6,218 for the village.

Many stalls and attractions were set up, including the traditional greasy pole, Punch and Judy, storytelling, a duck race and the children’s corner.
An exhibition by the Roadwater Quilters’ Group attracted a large audience, while a display of vintage motorbikes was a popular talking point for enthusiasts.
The tea room, barbecue and Pimms bar did brisk business, and the ever popular produce show provided items to go under the auctioneer’s hammer.
The money raised will go towards running the village hall and recreation ground, and for more improvements and equipment.
