AFTER a year of fundraising, Roadwater residents have bought something they could not buy over the village shop counter – the shop itself.

The occasion was marked last Friday (July 20) by a celebration on the shop forecourt, organised by shop committee members and volunteers, when the new company was toasted and the old company members thanked for their caretakership since July 2015.
Chairman Rob Wetheridge spoke of the exciting prospects ahead now ownership of the premises was secured.
Refurbishment, alterations and an extension of the building are proposed for the future. and plans will be on display at Roadwater Fete on Saturday (July 28).
