Council taxpayers to be charged average £5 more for Devon & Somerset Fire and RescueThere are currently only 11 councillors out of a quota of 15 and people living within a three-mile radius or who have a business in the town are being encouraged to step forward to fill the four vacancies.
A ‘meet your councillor’ event is being held on Saturday (May 17) at 10 am in The Square, and again on May 24 for people to find out more.
A spokesperson said serving as a councillor was to provide a voice for people, influence local issues, and decide how money was spent.
