THE sun shone on Danesfield for its annual sports day.

The field events took place in the morning and as usual the competition was good, with three records broken.

Ashleigh Clausen broke the Year Five girls' rounders ball record with a throw of 37-20 metres and Daniel Mollitt broke the Year Seven boys' discuss with 22.46m.

Also in the morning, Lydia Rosling broke the Year Seven girls 1500m record with a time of 5-42.9.

In the afternoon the school was a colourful display of red, green, yellow and blue as the pupils sat in their house groups.

A further three records were broken — Natalie Parker in the Year Five girls' 150m with 23.9 secs, Oliver Saddington in the Year Five boys' 75m with 11.11 secs and Rosie Wilson in the Year Seven girls 800m with 2-44.6.

The winning house for the second year running was Trevellyan with Luttrell with Luttrell second, Wyndham third and St Audries fourth.

The trophies for the best athletes were awarded to Rosie Wilson and Louis Wicking.
