RAIN stopped play at Wimbledon last Friday, but they are made of sterner stuff at Watchet Tennis Club.
There, the players went ahead with a 'Generation Games' doubles tournament which paired adults with players aged under 16.
Despite persistent rain, the spectators at the Memorial Ground were treated to some good, and often interesting, tennis.
Twelve pairs took part - and the rain only stopped for the presentation of the Mace Shield by Dave Westcott, of Glenmore Foods.
The winners were Richard Seymour and his ten-year-old partner Chris Gibbons, pictured on the left, who beat Nick Sully and his 11-year-old son Chris, on the right, in a play-off.
Mr Westcott is pictured in the centre and behind him is Watchet Tennis Club committee member and event organiser Lynne Milton.
