IF anyone who has dementia would like an accompanied trip on the West Somerset Railway, John Baly is their man!

John is one of a group of micro-providers who have started up their own enterprise to assist in the community.

Working under the banner ‘Helping to Remember...’, he involves people with dementia in activities and outings such as walks, café meals and now, especially, railway trips, which can bring back many happy memories.

John and the Watchet and the Quantocks Dementia Action Alliance have clubbed together to buy a special pass from the railway which allows him to take special people at a reduced rate.

Watchet and the Quantocks DAA leader Margaret Tatham said: “We know John is providing a great service and we want to help those that journey with him.”
