A QUIZ night held by Williton Pet and Equine at Crowcombe Village Hall raised £700 for Watchet-based charity Elliot’s Touch.
Over 50 people tested their knowledge answering questions on a range of subjects including sport, Christmas, pets and Great Britain. It was a close competition and the winning team won by just two points.
Local businesses supported the raffle by donating prizes including various hampers, tickets to Tropiquaria and the West Somerset Railway.
Donna and Paul Stevens, who founded Elliot’s Touch, gave a talk about the charity. It was formed in 2015 in memory of their one-year-old son, Elliot, who died from mitochondrial disease and childhood cardiomyopathy. To date the charity, over £120,000 has been raised to fund research for a blood test.
Wendy Berry, owner of Williton Pet & Equine, said “It was a great fun night and something that we will definitely look to do again. Local businesses were very generous with their donations. Elliot’s Touch is a fantastic charity that myself and all my staff are proud to support.”
She thanked all who took part.
Wendy is pictured with her five-year-old grandson Hugo Poole handing the cheque to Donna and Paul.
