RESEARCH is being carried out by Williton residents to track the movement of water on the night of the December flood.
Questionnaires are already being circulated in Robert Street, Bridge Street, Half Acre, High Street and Priest Street.
Shortly, they will also be sent to other properties known to have been affected, including those in villages and farms along Monksilver Stream.
The aim is to gather eye-witness accounts of the direction and characteristics of the flood which caused havoc by pouring water into homes last December.
The findings will be shown to the authorities concerned in the hope that the best possible solution may be found and so that promised funding will be well spent.
A public meeting is also being held at the Red Cross Centre, in Killick Way, Williton, at 7pm on July 16.
It will be chaired by Williton Parish Council and it is expected that representatives of the Environment Agency, West Somerset District Council and other bodies will attend.
Anyone who was affected by December's flooding but has not yet received a questionnaire is asked to contact Brenda Mandziej on 01984 633618 or to leave their name and address at Davies Newsagents, Fore Street.
