PUPILS from the Exmoor Coast Federation of schools held their first federated school council meeting in Dunster last week.
The children, representing St Dubricius' First School in Porlock, Cutcombe First School, Timberscombe First School, Minehead First School, St Michael's First School in Minehead, Dunster First School and Minehead Middle School, met in the Tithe Barn for the inaugural get-together.
While each of the schools already has its own individual school council, giving pupils the forum to raise a raft of issues and to suggest ideas to their peers, this was the first time a single federated school council had been brought together.
The aim of the federation between the schools is to further drive up standards between the partner schools and to boost children's attainment and social development.
