Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to 27 Somerset establishmentsEach class will take it in turns to look after the four chooks, while the eggs will be collected and sold each week to parents and friends.
The idea came from members of the school's eco group who wanted to take the concept of 'grow your own' one step further.
The hens are kept in their own coop and house within the school's wildlife garden area and are helping to keep the patch pest-free.
A school spokesman said pupils were 'eggstatic' with the arrival of their new feathered friends.
