MINEHEAD Male Voice Choir rounded off its annual dinner by singing a few numbers from its repertoire.

During the event at Minehead Golf Club, the choir looked back at a successful year in which it raised £3,306 for charitable causes including church funds and Williton-based Parkinson’s support group WASPS.

Funds were raised for the K/Dimbani School in Zanzibar, play equipment for Wootton Courtenay, and the Minehead Advice Centre.

The choir also played a part in the World War One centenary concert in November as well as singing at the Minehead Christmas Festival.

For the first time, it held a recruitment open evening, adding five new members to take membership up to 45.

This year will bring new opportunities including a trip to Cornwall for the International Male Voice Choir Festival and Eden Project Concert. It will be joining 60 other top male voice choirs from around the world.
