Tom Folland of Strutt & Parker Exeter: “Whilst the current owners of Middle Glebe have lived there for over 10 years, the house has its own interesting history, as it was home to Charles Samuel Myers from 1922 until his death in 1946.

“Myers was an English physician and psychologist who was seminal in coining the phrase “shell shocked” – originally used to describe the type of PTSD suffered by soldiers during WWI. Today, the house is an attractive country home, with beautiful interiors and lots of attractive features throughout.

“The house is set in Exmoor National Park and is surrounded by open moorland, but the mature gardens are gorgeous and offer a peaceful retreat, as well as fantastic views.

“Middle Glebe’s location is proving attractive to prospective buyers, thanks to its position on the edge of Winsford – a sought-after village with a strong community and excellent amenities.

“The 12th Century Royal Oak Inn is hugely popular and The Bridge Cottage Tea Rooms offer a delicious traditional cream tea.”
