SIR — Whilst searching the internet for information on greenhouse gas emissions, I learned that the human body can produce up to four litres of gas per day. I also learned that even if the UK Government target of ten per cent of electricity from renewable sources were achieved it would displace just .00003% (3 parts in one hundred thousand) of the total world emissions of CO2 from all sources. Perhaps we should consider the environmental benefits of a ban on the sale of baked beans. John Lucas, Mastercroft, Shurton.
