POLICE are appealing for dashcam footage after a car driver was killed and five other people were injured in a crash with a mini bus near Hinkley Point in Somerset.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 7pm on Monday.

The incident was on Hinkley Point Road, in the Bridgwater area, where the mini bus driver, also a man in his 40s, was hurt and taken to hospital, although his injuries were said not to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Four mini bus passengers suffered minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “The family are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.

“Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”

Police asked for anybody who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to call 101 and quote the reference number 5222291622, or complete an online form on the force’s website.
