PUBLIC notices cover a number of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:

•  Parsons Street, Porlock, will be closed between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm from Saturday, September 27, to Sunday, September 28, in order to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works.

• Felons Oak Lane, Withycombe, will be closed between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm from Monday, October 6, to Tuesday, October 7, in order to enable Kier to replace a pedestrian guard rail on behalf of Somerset Highways.

• Blenheim Road, Minehead, will be closed from Monday, September 22, to Friday, September 26 to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works.

• Robert Street, Williton, will be closed between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm from Monday, September 8, to Friday, September 19, to enable CJ Lynch & Sons (Minehead) Ltd to carry out remedial works.

• Church Gate To Manor House Gateway, Luccombe, will be closed from Monday, September 22, to Wednesday, September 24, in order to enable Wessex Water to renew a stop tap.

• Church Lane, Bicknoller, will be closed from Monday, October 6, to Wednesday, October 8, in order to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works.

• Wheddon Cross To Bridgetown Road, Exton, will be closed on Wednesday, September 24, between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm in order to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works.

• Five Bells, Williton, will be closed from Wednesday, October 8 to Monday, December 8, to enable Wales and West Utilities to replace a gas main.

• North Road, Williton, will be closed from Wednesday, October 8 to Monday, December 8, to enable Wales and West Utilities to replace a gas main.

• Dunster To Timberscombe Road, Timberscombe, between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm on Tuesday, September 23, in order to enable Openreach to renew poles.

• An Affecting or Adjacent to a Public Right of Way notice and an Affecting or Adjacent to a Conservation Area notice has been made regarding the proposed installation of outdoor calisthenics park at Porlock Recreation Ground, Parsons Street, Porlock.
