PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:

•  All traffic will be prohibited from proceeding along Parsons Street, Porlock, from the junction with High Street to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works. This will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Saturday, September 27 until Sunday, September 28.

• Blenheim Road, Minehead, will be closed northwards from the junction with The Avenue, from Monday, September 22 to Friday, September 26 in order to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works.

• Robert Street, Williton, will be closed to enable CJ Lynch & Sons (Minehead) Ltd to carry out remedial works. The work is expected to take place between Monday, September 8, and Friday, September 19, from the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm.

• Church Gate To Manor Gateway, Luccombe, will be closed from the junction with Brackley Steps To Luccombe, between Monday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 24. This is to allow Wessex Water to renew stop tap.

•  Park Lane, Carhampton, will be closed from 8.30am to 3.30pm on Friday, September 12 to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement.

•  All traffic is prohibited from proceeding along Wheddon Cross To Bridgetown Road, Exton, on Wednesday, September 24, between the hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm. This is to allow Openreach to carry out cabling works.

•  The Knoll, Stogumber, will be closed on Monday, September 8, between the hours 9.30am to 3.30pm, in order to enable Airband Community Internet Ltd to carry out fibre cable connection works.

•  All traffic is prohibited from proceeding along Higher Combe To Mounsey Hill Gate, Dulverton, enabling Kier to carry out signing works on behalf of Somerset Highways. Work will take place from Monday, September 8, to Friday, September 12.

• Main Road, Kilve, will be closed from the junction of Pardlestone Lane from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday, September 14, to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement and testing works.

• Dunster To Timberscombe Road, Timberscombe, will be closed on Wednesday, September 23, between 9.30am and 3.30pm to enable Openreach to renew poles.
