SIR — My name is Charlie and many of your readers may know me as the girl who dresses up as a pirate to raise money for children's hospices.
Well, here I am again, asking for your help.
I have teamed up with the Minehead Events Team and Visioning Manager to organise a Pirate Party at the Minehead Harbour Festival on Saturday July 20 to raise money for the Children's Hospices South West (who will be attending the event).
I am looking for local teachers/nursery workers etc to volunteer ten minutes of their time to stand in stocks and have wet sponges thrown at them!

As part of the day there will also be the usual raffle/tombola, and I appreciate times are hard for many of us now but if anybody has anything they feel they could offer as a prize it would be very much appreciated, either children's or adult prizes.
We are not selling tickets for the party - it will be a free event - but you will need a wristband, so if anyone requires these for their children please contact me as we need to know numbers.
Anybody who feels they can help in anyway or you would like wristbands, please contact me at [email protected]">[email protected], on Facebook - Pirates For Ellie (South West) or by ringing 07849 119439.
Many thanks in advance - I hope to see lots of you there (in full pirate dress!) for what promises to be a fantastic day.
Charlie Kennedy,
Minehead.
