Entitled ‘Please Tickle My Chin’, Keith W Hann’s photograph in the ‘wildlife’ category was of a pony scratching its jaw on a fingerpost. He was awarded the coveted trophy, donated by Alfred Vowles’ family.
The judges said they were impressed by the excellent composition and the unusual pose, which showed Keith’s empathy with the pony: “The photographer must have been very patient for the animal to be so relaxed.”
The competition for amateur photographers to capture scenes that convey the essence of Exmoor had three categories – ‘wildlife’, ‘landscape’ and ‘heritage’.
