AFTER years of steady increases, the4 cost of some parking in West Somerset could be set to go down.

In a bid to free up parking for visitors, the cost of season tickets for car parks away from main West Somerset tourist sites will be reduced next year if the district council accepts the recommendations of its cabinet.

Proposing revised fees and charges for 2018-19 at Thursday’s cabinet meeting, deputy leader Cllr Mandy Chilcott said it was hoped that lower season ticket charges would provide an incentive for commuters not to park in town centres and popular visitor areas.
