BETTER tourist facilities at Tarr Steps and the creation of a new coastal path around Porlock Bay are among the priority projects earmarked by Exmoor National Park Authority for completion during the forthcoming year.

The renovation of Simonsbath Sawmill and the implementation of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act are also included in the list, which features in the authority's newly published business plan for 2002-03.

The comprehensive 49-page plan sets out the authority's aims and ambitions for the next 12 months and invites members of the public to comment on them.

The plan explains the statutory roles of the authority and gives details about how it intends to fulfill them.

It is also written with the Government's Best Value scheme in mind, ensuring that the authority is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Copies of the plan are available from the authority's headquarters at Exmoor House, in Dulverton, or by logging-on to the website http://www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk">www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk.
