SIR — Now that Williton extends that far, a supermarket on the Roughmoor Industrial Estate might be very useful.

There are already other retail outlets there, and West Somerset Railway passengers might find it an asset in between trainspotting.

I personally would be happy to have outlets at both ends of the village for my different needs.

What Williton does need is a central community venue for major village events and discussions without having to borrow the district council offices. We used to use Danesfield School's sports hall.

I understand the pavilion plan for the Memorial Ground is directly linked to sport and other health concerns and will not need a car park.
