SIR — The West Somerset Community College Mentor Scheme has now been operating for four years, and once again I invite members of our community to take part in the scheme.
Well over 100 students have now benefited from meeting regularly with an interested adult to discuss their college work and consider future career decisions. Their mentors have come from all walks of life and have either shared common hobbies or are in careers in which the student has an interest.
We are seeking a further 30 or so mentors to match with Year 10 students (14/15 year olds) for between six and 18 months depending on the student needs.
