SIR — The 'Owls of Exmoor', under the umbrella of Exmoor Falconry and Animal Farm, would like to thank everyone who supported their collection outside Tesco's at the weekend and who helped to raise £627 for the development of the Brufut Bird Reserve in The Gambia.
We also wish to express our thanks to Tesco's for giving us permission to make this appeal.
Our fundraising efforts will be extended over the bank holiday weekend with a barbecue at Exmoor Falconry and Animal Farm on Sunday at 4pm, and all the money raised from both the barbecue and the Tesco collection will be sent direct to the people of Gambia through the West African Bird Study Association to enable them to develop the reserve, thereby employment and educational opportunities in this very poor part of Africa.
In total a massive sum of £2,400 has been raised this year for this appeal.
