AN Exmoor student who has been sailing since he was nine has been chosen to take part in the Trans-Atlantic Rendezvous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta.

Ossian Hojme, of Dulverton, who will turn 17 while at sea, will be the youngest person taking part in the Bermuda leg of the race, in a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Now Ossian, a former pupil at Dulverton Middle School and West Somerset College in Minehead, who is studying for his A levels at Richard Huish College in Taunton, is raising funds for the Rona Sailing Project charity that helps young people go on sailing voyages as well as this race.

“I’ve spent most my weekends sailing at Wimbleball Lake since I was very young – it’s fun, and exciting,” said Ossian.
