KING Edward Road and Seashells Nurseries, part of the West Somerset Academies Trust, took part in their own Race for Life last week.

Children, their families and staff walked, ran and jogged around Minehead Middle School field to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

They held a cake sale and enjoyed song- time with snacks on the field, including the presentation of medals for all the children taking part.

Nursery manager Shelley Hooper said: “I was overwhelmed by how many families supported the morning. Sponsor money is still coming in and it is anticipated that we will raise over £600.”

Shelley would also like to thank all staff who helped to make the morning possible.
