SIR — With regard to all the bovine TB stuff being the fault of badgers, has anyone really scientifically examined the part played by TB-infected cattle?

It strikes me that all the commentators on the subject only ever pay lip service to science, and no science ever materialises.

No peer-reviewed scientific studies are referred to and no scientist wheeled out to fieild questions from the public.

In fact the only people we ever hear from are those with a vested interest or agenda - farmers, MPs, agricultural journalists etc - all saying "sciency, sciency badger science" and that's it, case closed.

Call me cynical but I for one need to know a lot more before I'm convinced it's not spread by infected cattle slobbering and sneezing all over the pasture as they graze.

A big clue is in the word bovine.
