POLICE in West Somerset acted to seize an untaxed car after two response officers checked it out via the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), in Swansea, which holds records for 40 million vehicles in the UK.

The officers ran the black VW’s number plate through their ANPR software and discovered it was uninsured, not taxed, and its MoT had expired.

Because the car was parked on a road in Carhampton they arranged for it to be seized and taken away on the back of a flatbed recovery lorry.
