BLUE Badge holders using car parks operated by West Somerset Council should remember they need to pay for their space following changes introduced earlier this month.

Previously, Blue Badge holders received three hours’ free parking in the council’s car parks – this has now changed.

However, drivers with a valid badge will be entitled to 60 minutes free parking once they have made a payment and displayed their ticket.

This means that if a Blue Badge holder pays for an hour of parking, they will be able to park for two hours, with the second free of charge, provided their valid Blue Badge is clearly displayed.

The change does not affect valid Blue Badge holders being allowed to park on the street without making a payment.

Information on the changes has been advertised and for more information visit www.westsomersetonline.gov.uk.
