Public Notices: Emergency closure of footbridge The authority is encouraging purchases of plaques to honour a loved one or commemorate important anniversaries, or even just to mark the park’s 70th birthday this year.
Park authority access and recreation manager Dan Barnett said: “The bridge will not only divert footfall from ecologically sensitive areas, helping to protect wildlife like otters and pied flycatchers, it will also give riders and walkers a secure crossing over the River Barle, improving access to the landscape.”

A September 25 deadline is in place for ordering plaques in time to be placed on the bridge before it’s official opening on ‘Exmoor Day’, October 19.
