VISITORS to an Exmoor village need not fear being caught short.
For on Tuesday (August 9), £25,000 unisex toilets will be opened at Exford’s village car park.
With West Somerset Council struggling to fund public toilets, some towns and villages have agreed to take over their local toilets and carry out much needed renovations.
But Exford Parish Council felt its residents and visitors deserved something better.

Marie Curie charity Great Daffodil Appeal launched in Parliament with MP support“We asked people in the village what they wanted,” said council chairman Mike Ellicott.
“They said ‘Why not build some really nice new toilets?’ So that’s what we’ve done.”
The new eco-friendly unisex facilities are powered by solar panels and include full disabled access and baby changing facilities.
Cllr Ellicott will be joined by West Somerset Council leaders on Tuesday for the official opening.
