MINEHEAD Dementia Action Alliance’s new Forget-Me-Not memory loss support group has been launched at the old hospital in The Avenue, Minehead.

A long-planned dream for the alliance’s group of willing volunteers, it will be open every first and third Monday of the month from 2 to 4pm, offering with a varied programme tailored to meet the needs of those living with dementia and memory loss, and not forgetting their carers also. 

More than 50 invited friends, colleagues and supporters were at the launch to celebrate as Ann Snelling cut the ceremonial ribbon and Laura Meecham cut a celebration cake. Watchet’s town crier Dave Milton was on hand to officially start the proceedings. 

Ann said that the group’s had been realised thanks to its many supporters who had been very generous with their support and funding.
