MINEHEAD Museum is looking for family treasures which tell stories of the town’s past for its annual Artifacts Day on Monday (October 22).
Curator Julian Luke said it was hoped people would bring along photographs or objects that relate to the history of Minehead and Alcombe.
These may be loaned or donated, and people who simply have a story to share are also welcome to turn up on the day, between 11am and 4pm.
“You never know what is going to turn up,” said Julian.

Festive events lined up for golden anniversary year on West Somerset Railway“In previous years we have had a 1930s’ grammar school uniform, signs, photographs and event programmes along with items from shops and businesses that have long gone”.
The museum is completing its fifth season open to the public and attracting a record number of visitors.
Planning for next year is well underway and that half-forgotten item in the loft of the back of the cupboard could help form one of next year’s displays.
Minehead Museum is opposite West Somerset Railway Station, in the Beach Hotel and is alongside the Tourist Information Office.
