OVER 42 people took part in a special afternoon of movement and music in Minehead and raised £1,380 in aid of Australian wildlife.

The event was held at The Beach Hotel in Minehead, and organised by a group of local movement instructors, healers and musicians.

Proceeds went to the charity WIRES, to rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife.

“We had all seen the tragedy and the sheer devastation of the Australian bush fires on TV and social media, and were desperate to help,” said Lucia Forte, of Balance Point Pilates Studio, who messaged some friends and found the initiative snowballed from there.

Eleven instructors and musicians offering pilates, yoga, meditation, music and prayer, came together as The Movement and Healing Collective, to “create something positive” out of the Australian tragedy.
