WATCHET Mothers’ Club has presented £1,618 to the Rowan Suite for bereaved parents at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Some of the money, £662, was raised at the club’s annual children’s charity Christmas coffee morning in December and added to £456 from the second summer stall and £500 came from the honesty stall.
The money will be used towards refurbishing the counselling room
Musgrove Park Hospital’s maternity unit offers the Rowan Suite as part of its baby loss service where a mother and her partner are cared for when their baby dies.
It offers kindness, compassionate care, expertly trained bereavement midwives and a comfortable homely environment.
It was chosen because one of the club members experienced the loss of a baby in September and the parents were cared for in The Rowan Suite.
Additional donations have also been made from the honesty stall to Watchet Sea Scout Group towards the refurbishment of the scout headquarters and to Watchet Community Centre towards improvements.
