A FINE all-round performance brought Minehead a three-wicket win over battling Belvedere with just two overs to spare in Division Three on Saturday.

The afternoon opened with Minehead's opening bowlers Dave Bosley and Ross Hartgen reducing the home side to 41-4 before the unorthodox batting of Mark Ollerenshaw (58), David Taylor 920) and the tailenders added a further 150 runs for the last six wickets.

Bosley finished with 4-42 and Hartgen 3-58.

The irregular behaviour of the wickets made 191 appear a formidable task, but Minehead started well with Peter Blyth (36) and Ian Goodrum (24) putting on 50 for the first wicket.

From then on, 20 to 25 runs were added per wicket, although the outward swing bowling of Daniel Holland and the very slow spin of David Taylor had Minehead struggling for runs.

Hartgen, coming in at No 7, showed the depth of Minehead's batting with an unbeaten 42 to steer them home in a tense finish.

With maximum points from their last five games, Minehead now lead the table by three points from Fitzhead and Butleigh, and with Butleigh the visitors tomorrow (Saturday), Minehead will be determined to continue their winning ways.

Belvedere: 191 (M Ollerenshaw 58, A Cooper 29, D Taylor 20, D Bosley 4-42, R Hartgen 3-58).

Minehead: 192-7 (R Hartgen 42no, P Blyth 36, I Goodrum 24, D Holland 3-45, D Taylor 2-47).
