A NEW programme of weed control has started on the streets of Minehead after a decision by town councillors last autumn to abandon a trial with an environmentally-friendly foam-based system.
The council is instead now working on a roadside weed control programme with Complete Weed Control, a specialist in weed prevention, removal, and maintenance.
Town clerk Ben Parker said: “Their services cover a wide range of vegetation management needs, including aquatic weed control, invasive species management such as Japanese knotweed, and general roadside weed removal.
“The programme forms part of a seasonal maintenance plan to manage weed growth during the spring and summer months.
“Residents may notice work being carried out and are encouraged to observe any temporary signage and avoid treated areas for safety.”
